Paste-up photography – we’re in editing stage yay!!!

Seven sessions and wow – just have a look! Fun portraits aren’t they! Our group is also growing – we now have Afghani, Australian, Togolese, Chinese, Japanese and Polish participants – we are a very creative multinational, multilingual and multicultural group. Anyone can join us regardless of age, language or culture – this is a community engagement project for everyone in Ballarat.

We R You is modelled on the global Inside Out initiative, which is providing a ‘face’ for marginalised and disadvantaged people in communities around the world.  If you haven’t heard of Inside Out Project – please read how much impact it has on engaging communities and building positive connections.

Conceived as a graffiti intervention initiative, Ballarat’s We R You project will create large (A0 x 2 or A0 x 4) sized, digital photographic portraits of diverse people who are otherwise ‘invisible’ in our community. These portraits will be printed on paper and then pasted in identified graffiti hot-spots around Ballarat.

Next activity today at 4pm –  meeting outside the Huyghue House (behind the Art Gallery on Lydiard St) and we’ll be editing images at BLX lab on Camp Street – learning how to use Photoshop etc etc so don’t miss this one!

We’ll also be choosing the best ones to go on the display. See you all later today!…
