In the recent days, I have been scanning some amazing images from Roman & Teresa Skrypko family archive. It’s mind blowing how many beautiful images there are. Some prints are really small, so it is very challenging to get the detail our of them, bust some fortunately are bigger. Accordion is a very common instrument played in Poland (I can even play it a little bit) and most likely, when looking at archival images you will see it there in many party and official photos. To me it is a very symbolic and nostalgic instrument.. Some of the Skrypko & Buczek family archive images will be on exhibition at the Ballarat Town Hall as well as The Mining Exchange as part of the Ballarat Heritage Weekend 10-11th May.
